James May Reassembler

A good well made programme showing the amount of work involved in restoring a telephone.

This programme shows the amount of work involved in just reassembling a telephone. What of course it does not show is the restoration, cleaning and wiring up to make it work perfectly after this has been done. As you will see he is putting a pristine, unused, out of the box telephone back together and so is as easy as it gets. In reality we strip them down and restore each part to make sure they work perfectly. The easy part is putting them back together, the hard part is cleaning, polishing and making sure each part works like they did when new. Then finally we fully test and get them working both mechanically and electronically. Anyway it was a well made and entertaining programme which shows just how many parts these phones have in them and all have to be correct or they just won't work.
