This is such a nice telephone. It is dated 1937 and the plastic parts are made from Diakon and are as new with the distinctive vibrant red associated with this early Acrylic material. Externally as good as you will ever find. It has been totally stripped down and rebuilt after each part has been cleaned and polished. 1937 was the first year of manufacture of the 300 series. All the plastic parts are marked E/MP D and match perfectly. The rear chassis location inside has snapped off but shows nothing at all externally. The internals are not 1937 and the base also. I imagine it has been refurbished at some time but is not marked as such. It is fitted with a best quality all British manufactured hand plaited braided handset cord and a GPO specification round plastic line in cord with a UK telephone plug socket. This telephone is one of the nicest looking 300s you will see. Very rare in Diakon 1937 and looks fabulous. Note the rare GPO crested drawer fitted to some coloured telephones of this period.
