This telephone is a wonderful example of a GPO No150 and dated 1929 with a wooden GPO No1 wall bell set. As you can see it looks fabulous and has been totally stripped down and and rebuilt after each part has been restored to the best it can be. The brass parts still have the original plated finish which as you can see is good but not perfect. Not re plating these items saves a lot of maoney and so can be sold at a cheaper price. The black body and base has been refinished to perfection and the rubber on the base to protect your furniture has been replaced. It is fitted with the very best available hand plaited brown braided cords to the bell set and ear piece. Candlestick telephones are operated from electronics in the bell set. This one has had a GPO induction coil fitted and wired up correctly to allow the telephone to work properly. The GPO bell box started life in 1926 as aGPO No1 and was then modernised by the GPO to a model No41 and I have now re wired it as a GPO No1 with 200 series speach coils to enable perfect speech quality. The bell set is in fabulous condition and has been French polished and looks wonderful with only a few slight imperfections. I have fitted an electronic microphone to bring the speech quality up top modern standards. I can make a dial label with your information at no extra charge.
