Fabulous pre world war 2 telephone

Sold

This is a wonderful telephone and has survived in great condition. This one came to me in a wonderful as found condition and so probably tucked away in a loft for many years. It has been totally stripped down, cleaned and polished and then reassembled. The handset is marked 1936 and the base 1935 and was manufactured by Siemens. This one still retains its early flush to the body cradle and beautiful No10 enamel faced dial marked 1936. It is rare to find No25 bell sets still wired up to a 162 telephone because if they had ever gone back to refurb it would all have been changed for the internals of the day. I have fitted it with an electronic microphone and a 1950s 2P upgrade receiver unit. I have also fitted it with a very best quality hand plated braided handset cord and a quality D shaped line in cord with a UK telephone plug socket made with my own fair hands. All in all a great early telephone in very nice condition and kept as original as possible whilst making sure the speech and sound quality meets modern standards. I can make a dial label with your information at no extra charge.
