This is a beautiful example of a GPO no 150 candlestick telephone. This one retains an original cord to the earpiece and the cord between the bell set and telephone. The telephone has been stripped down and rebuilt after cleaning and polishing each part. It has not been repainted by me because it only has some a couple of chips and some minor use marks and so I left it. As you can see it is a fine example. The dial is a GPO No 12 with a genuine enamel alpha numeric dial face which has some fading to the No 1. Again I thought it best to keep it in its used condition. The bell set has been stripped and varnished the bells have been polished to brass and lacquered as the original black finish was tatty and as you can see this looks a great. It is fully working to both dial out and receives perfectly and has been fitted with an electronic microphone. Please note the bell set is a genuine 1933 GPO No1 and was made to go with a candlestick. A genuine candlestick telephone as this of course is needs a No 1 wooden bell set or a No25 Bakelite bell set to work properly because they have the components needed to make the speech work properly on the line. Many dealer will not have used the correct bell set and this will make the speech very load in your ear and almost unusable.
