Take a look at this telephone and don't adjust your colour. Yes you are looking at a pastel green 300 series telephone manufactured in the late 1950s and early 1960s. This is not painted but is the colour it was moulded in. It is believed that ATM sold there tooling to Indian Telephone Industries at this time and these telephones were produced in small numbers in pastel colours. They were powder blue, pink, light green, peach, fawn, white and red. Because the red and white were made by other by the GPO these are not so sought after. They also made a clear one as well. These were made in the original format with the internal workings mounted in the body just as the ATM and the GPO. As you can see the moulding are of a very high quality. I have fitted this one with GPO internals, a GPO No12 dial and a best quality hand plaited braided cord. I doubt there are even ten of this colour that could be restored to this condition in the world. A collector friend of mine had a number of contacts in India and bought all the good ones in existence and even then had to pay though the nose. This one has just come out of storage after around 15 years or so. It has been cleaned and polished, converted and tested and ready to simply plug in and go. I can make a dial label with your information at no extra charge.
