This is a very nice example and dates from 1938. Because this is quite early the colour is a little milkier in colour than the deep ivory of the later models. The mouthpiece is slightly whiter than the other parts but I am being very fussy. In fact the pictures show it quite accurately.
The handset is marked S-38 GPO No164 234 and the base is marked 1/232. It has been totally stripped down and rebuilt after each part has been cleaned and polished. The handset is a best quality all British made hand plaited reproduction braided cord and the line in is a GPO specification round plastic cord with a UK telephone plug socket. It has an electronic microphone fitted to allow modern speech quality. I can fit a small internal bell at no extra charge but this will not be very loud but ideal if in a bedroom or in a small quite room. A GEC 64D model bell set with a double socket can be added for a further £40. I can make a dial label with your information at no extra cost.
