This is one for the collectors I suspect. I had a green one many years ago but don’t recall one in red. This is the GECs version of the 300 series telephone. It is unusual in that it is made from a Bakelite type material or thermosetting plastic. I am unsure of the date but would imagine late 1930s to 1940s. The Bakelite is a good colour although it has some swirls in the material and imagine there from new. I have fitted a best quality reproduction braided handset cord. The metal base has two small hole drilled into it. The pictures do make it look slightly better as you cannot see any slight swirls but it is a very nice example. I will be offering to some collectors I have on my books first. I have wired it up and it is fully working other than having bell tinkling its own bells on dialling out.
