This a beautiful early Bakelite telephone made by GEC and is called the GECoPHONE. I bought three of these and they must have been put away when the company upgraded its telephone system maybe as long ago as 50 years. The remaining two will be listed as soon as they are completed. I would imagine it is dated to the early 1930s and could be as late as the late 1940s. It was a joy to restore as it has never been messed with and so still retains its original enamel dial face and internal wiring etc. I have upgraded it with a later 1950s receiver, an electronic microphone; a best quality reproduction hand plaited braided cord and a GPO specification round plastic line in cord with a UK plug socket. Any modifications could be put back to there original state with no signs they were changed. It has been fully tested to dial out and receive perfectly. The bell sound is wonderful. I get immense pride when I restore such a beautiful item to its former glory.
I will make a dial label with your information at no extra cost. Please state if you would like a GEC style dial label or an early GPO style.
Postage and packing to any UK address is £20.
