This is a lovely all original telephone dated 1953 on the handset and 1954 on the base. It retains its original GPO No12 alpha numeric dial and I have kept the original GPO braided cord it came with. Note this has some staining but otherwise in great condition. The telephone has been totally stripped down and rebuilt after each part has been cleaned and polished. The dial has then been oiled and set up to the correct speed and the contacts adjusted to operate correctly. To do this properly it has been set up on a special line simulator test unit until it met the requirements of the machine. It has been fitted with an electronic microphone and a GPO specification round plastic line in with a UK telephone socket. It has a few minor imperfections listed here and are all photographed below. The handset where the cord enters has two small slots filed in, the earpiece end has a crack which has been stabilised with no paint used and the back is slightly paler than the front of the telephone. If you want a fine looking fully working and fully guaranteed telephone at a low price then this is for you.  Ideal for use as an everyday telephone you don’t have to be ultra careful with.
