This is a very elegant little telephone. Designed in 1929 as the 162 model and later transformed with a drawer tray to the base and cradle to allow it to be carried around more easily and upgraded internals for better performance and numbered 232. as you can see this is a lovely example and has been totally stripped down and rebuilt after each part has been cleaned and polished. It is fitted with a very best quality hand plaited all British manufactured handset cord, an electronic microphone and a GPO specification round plastic line in cord with a UK telephone plug socket. It has an alpha numeric GPO No12 metal dial in perfect condition and is fully tested to dial out and receive perfectly. The handset is dated 1936. This model was designed to be fitted to a GPO No 26 bell set and so had no internal bell. I have fitted a small bell inside that give a very pleasant ring but not very loud. Ideal for a bedroom or in a sitting room. I can make a dial label with your information at no extra charge. This is ready to plug in and go.
