This telephone has been totally restored. The No 12 alpha numeric dial has been stripped down cleaned polished and the contacts adjusted to work perfectly. This one started life as a GPO No2 model with no dial but was upgraded for a dial and re numbered by the GPO to a No150 probably in the 1930s. The body has been stripped and re-finished to a near perfect standard and the brass parts have all been polished and nickel plated. The cords have been replaced with the very best all British manufactured hand plaited braided cords. It is fitted with an electronic microphone and the bell set has been fitted with the correct speech coil to allow perfect sound quality. I have fitted it to an early GPO desk top bellset from around 1910. This is a genuine telephone that has been plated in nickel to bring it up to near perfection. Originally the nickel plated parts would have been black plated. The GPO did nickel plate special telephones sometimes. Please note I have never seen a switch arm with a patent number printed on it and so this is quite unusual. This telephone is ready to plug in and go and the bellset will add a beautiful piece of desktop furniture as well not having to wall mount it. This bellset is very loud and sounds wonderful. To restore these to this condition is time consuming and expensive and so please don't confuse with cleaned up as found models you may see. This is fitted with a genuine dial label but I can make one up for you with your own personal details at no extra charge.
